Our new Keeping Children Safe Online workshop provides parents and carers with information about how to support their child in their online world. The 40 minute pre-recorded presentation covers topics such as online bullying, mental health, and social media, as well as signposting to resources and organisations for help and support.

The workshop can be shown to groups of parents in school or community settings as well as being helpful for individual parents/carers.

However, if you do want a live delivery of the workshop to a group of parents, from a member of the NSPCC team, please contact parentworkshops@NSPCC.org.uk

‘This workshop was very helpful and I spoke again to my 14-year-old last night, but this time with more knowledge.’

FAQs

We cover a whole range of online safety topics depending on your need and the time you have available, including:

  • gaming
  • social media
  • cyberbullying
  • parental controls
  • online grooming
  • sharing nudes
  • online porn
  • online challenges, hoaxes, and scams
  • spotting the signs of online abuse
  • mental health and wellbeing
  • online friendships and dating.

For a one hour session, we recommend adding two or three of the above topics to our core content.

We deliver group sessions to schools, community groups, businesses and organisations who work with parents and carers.

Our core workshop lasts approximately 30 minutes. This session will give parents and carers an overview of some of the risks and benefits children face online and shares key advice on how they can help to keep them safe.

We also have advice and information on a whole range of other topics that can be added to the session. Our team will work with you to create a bespoke workshop depending on the needs of your audience.

We have a team of trainers across the UK and can deliver the sessions virtually or in-person.

We currently only offer our workshops to groups of parents and carers. However, you can access pre-recorded versions of our workshops here.
